"Keep close to nature's heart, and in its eternal youth you may renew your own"-John Muir
WELCOME
Colorado is a place near and dear to our hearts and we hope you will be able to celebrate with us this fall. Not only is Colorado one of the most beautiful places on the planet, but there are also so many things to occupy your time. The Vail/Beaver Creek area is home to some of the nation's best scenery, hiking trails, golf and fly fishing. The fall is an amazing season, aspens changing, mild weather, except for the occasional unexpected snowstorm, and fewer people. In order to ensure the best rates and availability, please be sure to make your travel arrangements and hotel reservations as soon as possible.
Saddle Up!
Denver airport (DEN) is the easiest, and most direct option to get there. Once you arrive rent a car and drive 2 (beautiful!!) hours, about 120 miles, to Beaver Creek.
You can also take the Colorado Mountain Express shuttle. 800-525-6363;
http://www.ridecme.com/Alternate Airport: You can aso fly into Vail/Eagle County Airport (EGE), and drive about 25 miles to Beaver Creek or take the Colorado Mountain Express. Flights to Vail Airport are typically not direct at this time of year, but if you can find a flight it is a great option!
What To Wear
Thursday's Family Rehearsal Dinner: coat and tie for the Gents, cocktail attire for the ladies.
Friday BBQ: Go casual! Jeans and a button down for the cowboys, maybe a blazer if you feel like it. Cowgirls, jeans and boots, a fun dress if you feel like it, anything goes, cowboy boots too! Make sure you layer up for the bon fire in the evening!
Saturday: Coat and tie or a suit for the men, and cocktail attire for the ladies.

A few things you can do while in town
Chairlift ride to the top of Beaver Creek- The chairlift will be open the weekend of the 25th and 26th from 9:30am-4:30pm. Amazing views from the top! And you can hike or bike down if you so desire.
Golf- There are three gorgeous courses, one in Beaver Creek, and two championship courses at Red Sky Ranch about 15-20 minutes away. The best part?--golf balls travel farther at an altitude!
-Beaver Creek Golf Course (970)754-5775: $89+tax
per person, includes green and bag/cart fees.
-Red Sky Ranch (970)754-8425: two courses, Fazio & Norman. $185-200 depending on where you are staying, includes tax, green, bag/cart fees.
Fishing- As Nick can tell you, there is a ton of fly fishing in the area in lakes and rivers. Gore Creek Fly Fisherman is a good outfitter (970)476-3296
Hiking/biking- There are many trails in the Beaver Creek/Vail area. Venture Sports (970)949-1318 has bike rentals and tours.
Whitewater Rafting- It's getting later in the season, but there are a few outfitters in the area who can show you around: Lakota River Guides (970)845-RAFT, Nova Guides (970)827-4232, or Timberline Tours (970)476-1414
Spa- If you need to get off your feet with some pampering there are a few places to try in the area. Try the Allegria spa at the Park Hyatt or The Bachelor Gulch Spa at the Ritz Carlton.
General Info and Local Tips
Altitude
Drink plenty of water!! Beaver Creek is 8,100 feet above sea level and the high elevation can sometimes affect people. It is easy to get dehydrated and develop altitude sickness if you are not drinking, eating, or sleeping properly.
Climate
Be prepared for the weather. The average high at this time of year is 65-70 and the average low is 30-35. The weather turns cool in the evening so bring a wrap or jacket. Also, be sure to dress in layers when you are exploring the area.
What to Wear
Beaver Creek is very casual: jeans and cowboy boots are welcome almost everywhere! The wedding is coat and tie.....but feel free to keep the boots on!
One Last Reminder
Drinking alcohol at sea level and at 8,100 feet are two very different things. Drink plenty of water!
